Hopefully anyone out there trying to play this on their PC can use that workaround. College Hoops 2K8, the 1 rated college basketball game. Other than those two things, the game has run perfectly smooth for me. College Hoops 2K8 continues the legacy of the NCAA franchise with all new features, including the 6th Man Advantage feature that lets the crowd atmosphere affect the game performance of teams, a training mode where players can improve their skills through practice, and more. Changing an obscure setting called “disable native float16 support” to true, in the config file of the emulator, fixed the players having purple faces. Turning off autosaving in game fixed the crash. Crashing due to auto save, and players faces being blue. This runs great on RPCS3 so far, having only encountered two bugs. I have however went through the link in the mega thread, and gotten a PS3 zip file of the game, that I missed earlier. Thanks guys.Įdit: thanks to u/the_ex_con_chav_twat I’ve been informed that as far as the wiki says, the game isn’t available anywhere currently in the Xbox 360 format. I hate to ask, but over the past two hours I've had no luck. College Hoops 2k8 seems to be missing from everything, aside from ps2 copies. This is not a game where individual players can dominate so much like the pros. One thing I did find a little disconcerting.Does anyone know where this might be? I've searched all over, used different search engines, checked the megathread here, tried the wiki, torrent sites, and even been to some sketchy rom websites that don't have it. Just like the real NCAA, you have to move the ball around, take advantage of matchups, and find the open man otherwise you'll get crushed. One big thing (which is very realistic) is that combpared to the NBA game, you can't just size up someone, do a crossover, then to toward the hoop for a layup/dunk. I went ahead and ordered it as I thought, "hey ,for this price maybe I should give this game another go around as it was fun but I didn't play it for very long."When I got the game and fired it up for the first time, I came to realize how fun this game is!! Not only is the presentation AWESOME (especially the crowds, weekly wrapup shows, the selection show, etc.) but the game runs so smooth and fluid. So, long story short, I was ordering something else from retrolio and checked to see what was cheap for PS3 and came across this for VERY cheap. While I really like NBA 2K12, I really just couldn't get into it like I did 2K11. I've played College Hoops 2k7, 2K8, NBA 2k8-2K12 (which I still own 12 as of now) so I am very familiar with the 2K Basketball series. The biggest difference is this game actually supports DTS (even though the box only says Dolby Digital), this produces sound that is generally richer and fuller. Overall much improved.2) Audio is generally comparable to prior versions of the game, and this is very good as the prior games had good sound design. Also the animations are far smoother and more creative. A substantial amount of detail has been paid to little graphical items - for example the cameramen on the sidelines are perfectly rendered and move appropriately, players move from the bench to the scorers table after you order substitutions to wait for the dead ball, after timeouts your players move back onto the court as the mascot/cheerleaders leave it, finally arenas are well rendered with accurate center logos (e.g. Player appearance is far sharper, as is general presentation. This review will largely focus on the differences and improvements between the PS3 version and the older lesser versions. Had the game on a pin drive as expected, and even more It had the Multiman i needed to install too If you're good with electronics but don't want to waste time downloading stuff, this is the person to buy it from. I bought this title for my new PS3 to replace 2K6 and 2K7 for the Xbox. Purchased item: College Hoops 2K8 for PS3 - read description.
